What is there to see in Frankfort these days?

We are planning a trip to Indiana this summer to look at Purdue and IU as possible schools for the youngest and I would like to take her to Frankfort.  She was born there, but we moved before she was one and all she has heard are stories of how wonderful Frankfort was.
I am planning on visits to the local cemeteries to see those long dead relatives , the family houses and so on, but I wonder how other parts of town are fairing.
Is the park still as beautiful as it was? Is there still the petting zoo that Travis started back in the '90's?  Does the down town still have some old buildings I would recognize?  Is the library (my favorite place in the world) the same?
I haven't been back since maybe 98 and that was only for a day.  Any help would be appreciated.

Steve,
Great work. Most of us on here have either lived Clinton County and now live in or around Frankfort. Have you thought of adding to your sight other schools or small towns within Clinton County ? Just a thought, I am sure there are other's that have old pictures of their schools or small towns. This is great to look at the old memories. Life is great.

I just visited TPA park this Memorial weekend(2010)>The people in Frankfort should be proud that the city does as good a job they do by making the park presentable.Yes,there were a few eye sores but I would give the park a 90% good rating compared to other city parks and even some state parks.I was somewhat surprised to see the pool closed. Are they having money problems? If so,that's to bad. It's such a beautiful facility! If that's the case may some of the business' could chip in a little dough and get it open?Frankfort is still a very pleasant mid-west town to visit even if you only spend a day and see the way common people live.To me it still seems like it would be a very nice place to live.

The pool is now filled and looks like it is about ready to go.  They use to open it on memorial day but are now waiting until the later part of June.  Yes, it does have to do with money but they also had some painting to do.

Also wanted to mention, the TPA park will be 100 yrs old I believe next year.  There had been a lot of vandalism going on there.   A few of the stone colums going up the steps to the shelter house from the water fountain had been toppled over.  A real shame.  However, they are trying to get more security lighting out there and possibly a camera or two.

They are also getting together a $2,500 reward for info on those doing the vandalizing.  It has been going on now for a while.
