Back in the late 50's, there was a concrete block building out at the Clinton County Fairgrounds that was dedicated to the youth on Saturday nights. I think it was called the Teen Club. I saw many bands out there.
The one I remember the most was "Maybellene" performed by Chuck Berry before he was a big rock star. I remember seeing his famous dance with the guitar across the stage. What a great memory. I saw him the other day on TV and he is still dancing with his guitar.
Does anybody else remember the "Teen Club" and who they may have seen?
I remember it being called the "J C Teener Club." So, I supposed it was sponsored by the Frankfort JC's. The few times I was there I saw only local bands, like "The Astronauts!"
I also remembered it being called the "Teener Club". It would have been the mid 60's. The local band with Rick Knapp performed there and also they had records.
